Websites and software for contractors and renovation companies

A renovation company's quote request sorted by type of job, a project gallery split into commercial and residential work, and an installer schedule for the week, with example data

A contractor is hired on trust and on proof. A homeowner or a property manager wants to see finished work, find you on Google, ask for a price for their kind of job, and know your crew will turn up on the day you said. Behind the website, the same business needs quotes that add up, a schedule the crew can follow, and a clear record of what was signed and paid.

We have built both halves for the trades. RK Modern Construction & Renovations and JLJ Painting, both in Surrey, run websites we built, and Floor Warehouse, a Burnaby flooring distributor, sells through a store we built. Behind the counter, iFloor, our own software, runs a Richmond flooring store from the first measurement to the final payment, with a portal for its installers and one for its customers.

Each section below is tied to one of those builds and to the service page that explains it. Start with the piece that costs you the most today: the free 30-minute assessment finds it, and we come to you, at your business, at a spot near you or online.

Built for the trades

What a contractor needs, and where we have built it

The jobs a contractor's website and back office have to do. Each one names the build where it runs today and the page with the detail.

  1. Quote requests sorted by job type

JLJ Painting's quote form asks which of its seven services a visitor needs, so every request arrives already sorted, from exterior and condo work to new construction. RK Modern puts a Start a Project button on every page of its site.

  2. Project galleries that show work like theirs

RK Modern's gallery holds 40 photos in a Commercial and a Residential section, each with its own link, so RK can send a clinic owner straight to clinic work. JLJ Painting's 21 job photos are tagged Commercial, Residential or Condo.

  3. Found on Google, with reviews beside the work

We listed JLJ Painting on Google Maps and with the BBB, and its site has buttons that open both listings so a visitor reads the reviews at the source. RK Modern's Google reviews sit beside every service it sells, on the service pages themselves.

  4. Site visits and measurements booked online

In iFloor a customer picks a measurement time from their portal in 30-minute slots, times when every installer is already booked are greyed out, and staff confirm the visit in place.

  5. Quotes and estimates that add up

iFloor prices every labour sheet on the server from the owner's rate card, applies GST and PST separately, and turns measurements taken on a phone into the price. The customer signs with a finger and picks an install date in the same sitting.

  6. Job tracking for the office, the crew and the customer

iFloor's schedule has one row per installer and warns before a double booking. Installers get a text the day before each job and work through a checklist on site, and the customer's page shows which parts of the job are done as they happen.

  7. Invoices built from what was signed

iFloor builds each invoice from the signed labour sheet with deposits applied, records cheque, cash and e-Transfer payments in one ledger, and sends a payment reminder 7 days after an invoice.

  8. Supplier orders and dealer accounts

Floor Warehouse's store lets dealers apply for an account and buyers compare water rating, wear layer and thickness before they order. In iFloor every order line carries its supplier, PO and ETA, and a supplier who has not confirmed is flagged the same day.

FAQ's

Frequently asked question

What should a contractor's website have?

Proof first: photos of finished jobs sorted by the kind of work, reviews from Google beside each service, and a clear way to ask for a price from any page. Then the basics a buyer checks, such as the areas you serve, your phone number as a tap-to-call link, and a form that asks what type of job it is.

Can our quote form sort requests by type of job?

Yes. JLJ Painting's form has a Service You Need list with the same seven services its site describes, so each request arrives already sorted. A form can also ask for the details that set your price, such as rooms or square footage, and land in your CRM as a contact instead of in an inbox.

Do you only build websites, or the software behind them too?

Both. RK Modern, JLJ Painting and Floor Warehouse show the website side. iFloor shows the back office: quotes priced from a rate card, measurements on a phone, e-signatures, installer scheduling, a portal for each customer and invoices built from what was signed. Most contractors start with one piece and add the next when it pays.

How much does a contractor website or quoting system cost?

It depends on what it has to do. A website that shows your work and takes quote requests is a smaller job than quoting, scheduling and invoicing software for a whole crew. We publish no flat price. After the free 30-minute assessment you get a written estimate, with GST added on top. Call 604-900-2060 for pricing.

Can customers book a site visit or a measurement online?

Yes. In iFloor a customer picks a measurement time from their portal in 30-minute slots, and times when every installer is already booked are greyed out. Our booking builds also honour minimum notice, daily limits and statutory holidays, and sync with Google Calendar both ways, so the office never books a visit twice.

Can our crew see their jobs on a phone?

Yes. iFloor installers sign in to their own portal with their jobs, calendar and documents, get a text at 7 AM the day before each job, and work through a checklist on site. Updates and photos taken without signal send when the connection returns, and installers never see your costs or margins.

Do you work with trades other than renovation, painting and flooring?

Yes, in the same way. The case studies on this page are a renovation company, a painting contractor, a flooring distributor and a flooring store, because those are the trades we have built for so far. For any trade, the free assessment starts from how you quote, schedule and get paid today, and we build from there.

Can you help with our Google Business Profile and reviews?

Yes. We set up or tidy the profile: the right categories, the cities you actually serve, real photos of your jobs and details that match your website. We draft replies to reviews for you to approve, and we never buy reviews or script them. We did the same work on our own profile first.

Who owns the website and the software you build for us?

You do. The design, the content and the code we write for you are yours once the project is paid, and your customer records are yours from the start. The written scope says who holds the domain and the hosting, and we transfer anything we run for you whenever you ask.
