Assort Health alternative: an AI receptionist for businesses outside health care

Assort Health makes AI voice agents for health care. Its home page talks about patients, referrals, insurance and health record systems, and about little else. If you run a medical practice, that focus is the reason to choose it, and we are not going to talk you out of it.

If you run something else and found Assort Health while looking for an AI receptionist, ours is built for a small service business. We phoned both on October 11, 2026. None of the nine we timed had a shorter slowest answer than Assort Health.

Timed by phone

Assort Health's demo number and ours, two calls each

Assort Health's typical wait was 1.8 and 2.0 seconds, and its slowest answer took 2.1 seconds. None of the nine had a shorter slowest answer. It talked over the caller once across the two calls.

On October 11, 2026 we phoned each demo number twice. The caller was an AI of ours playing a new customer, and it was not told whose number it had dialled. The wait is the time from the caller's last sound to the receptionist's first sound. The typical wait is the middle value on a call. Talking over the caller means it started speaking while the caller was mid-sentence and the caller kept going.

What this test cannot tell you

  • These are demonstration lines. A company's demo line is not the same as a receptionist set up for a paying customer, and each demo plays a different kind of business.
  • Two calls is a small sample. The two typical waits beside each name show how much one line can move between calls. Treat the table as a snapshot of one afternoon, not a ranking for all time.
  • Speed is not the job. This measures waiting and interrupting. It says nothing about whether the answers were right, whether a booking was made or what the business received afterwards. We test those separately on our own line and we did not grade anyone else on them.
  • The caller was an AI. It let us ask every line the same kind of questions in the same manner. A person would have been less consistent and might have been more patient.
  • Our caller was not always polite either. It cut in before the line had finished speaking on four of the eighteen calls. It did so five times on one RingCentral call and three times on one My AI Front Desk call. It did so once on a Jobber call and once on an Upfirst call. On the My AI Front Desk call and the Jobber call, that is the same call where the line talked over the caller. So part of that count may be the line finishing its own sentence. We have since changed the caller to wait until the line's voice has stopped, and the next run will count again.

Small service businesses in British Columbia whose day is calls, email, meetings, quotes and contracts.

Health care providers. Its home page says thousands of providers across more than 23 specialties trust it.[1] source 1

Which one fits your business

Assort Health is the better choice when

  • You run a medical practice, or a group of them.
  • The receptionist has to work inside your health record system. It connects to more than 15.
  • Your scheduling has rules: which provider sees what, and which insurance. That is what it is built for.

Ours is the better fit when

  • You run a small service business outside health care.
  • You want calls to end in a meeting in your calendar, with a Meet link or a meeting place.
  • You want the call filed on the client's record with a summary and tasks.
  • You want to hear a call live and take it over from your own phone.

What the two calls to Assort Health showed

Assort Health's typical wait was 1.8 and 2.0 seconds, and its slowest answer took 2.1. No other of the nine kept its slowest answer that short. It talked over the caller once. Ours answered in 1.6 and 1.9 seconds, with a slowest answer of 2.4, and did not talk over the caller.

Each demo number plays a different kind of business, and Assort Health's world is health care. That is one reason these numbers are a snapshot of one afternoon and not a ranking.

Why ours is not the alternative for a clinic

A clinic's phone is harder than ours. A caller may need the right provider and the right insurance handled, and Assort Health's page is about exactly that.

Ours books meetings into a calendar and files calls on a client's record. It does not connect to health record systems, and it has never scheduled a patient. We would rather say so here than on a sales call.

How to get the AI receptionist

The AI receptionist is part of NameCRM and is not sold on its own, because it books into the calendar, reads the caller's record and turns promises into tasks. Request access on the NameCRM page and we will set up a walkthrough.

Questions

What people ask before they choose

Is there an Assort Health alternative for a business that is not a clinic?

Yes. Assort Health is built for health care, so most other AI receptionists are closer to what a non-medical business needs. Ours is one: it answers when you cannot, books into your calendar and files the call on the client's record. It comes inside NameCRM, by request.

How fast does Assort Health's AI answer the phone?

We made two calls to its public demo number on October 11, 2026. Its typical wait was 1.8 and 2.0 seconds, and its slowest answer took 2.1 seconds. It talked over the caller once. That is two calls to a demo number, not a practice's own setup.

Can your AI receptionist be used by a medical or dental office?

It can answer, book meetings and take messages for a small office, but it is not built for health care. It does not connect to health record systems, and we make no health privacy claim for it. A practice that needs those should look at a product built for health care, such as Assort Health.

What does Assort Health do that a general AI receptionist does not?

Its home page says it schedules patients by each practice's own rules and draws on a patient's care history. It also connects to more than 15 health record and practice management systems. A general receptionist, ours included, does none of that.

How do I get your AI receptionist?

It is part of NameCRM and comes by request. Ask for access on the NameCRM page and we will set up a walkthrough. To hear it first, call 604-900-2060 and let it ring.
